Fallen Fronds Release 01

Thermal Breakdown is the debut release from Fallen Fronds, the electronic production team with origins in Los Angeles, CA. Fallen Fronds is fronted by Charles Guilterre, a musician/DJ best known for his lounge-inspired Hump parties in New York City's East Village in the late 1990s.

Since its creation in April 2011, Fallen Fronds has been defining their electronic sounds through remix projects and production work for other upcoming artists. The Fallen Fronds sound can be described as experimental electro, incorporating retro elements from late 1970s pop and disco, new wave and industrial from the 1980s, and 1990s trip hop/ambient/house; the bulk of these sounds provided by Guilterre's collection of analog synthesizers.

Musically, the four tracks differ greatly, showcasing the scope and range of the band's sound. The first track, "Protagonist," is a darker track with a lot of bubbly synths and a bit of 1970s flair. "Inflection" is an industrial stomper with complex sonic subplots and vocal treatments. "Cyclones" harkens back to turn of the millennium dancefloor anthems that would fit will in an Orbital catalogue. The final track, the cover of Erasure's "Cry So Easy," is just pure 1980s electro pop bliss, graced by the soothing vocals of Bill Kelley from the NYC band Flipside 71.
